Based on the upstream Identity Hub, one of our brave proud committers Carlos Diez Rodriguez, has created an effective tutorial which will guide you from 0 to hero on how to start developing with the Eclipse Tractus-X Identity Hub!

What are our objectives?​

We are restarting the development of the Identity Hub (Wallet) in Eclipse Tractus-X.

Our objectives are the following:

• Create a well documented identity hub using the Eclipse Dataspace Components framework.
• Implement a multi "-X" dataspace support wallet.
• Reduce complexity for applications that are willing to use the wallet.
• Make a reality in Eclipse Tractus-X aspect model credentials issuance, based on frameworks like the dpp-verification and the future Data Trust & Security KIT!
• Demonstrate the issuance, holding, request and management of membership credentials.

We’re happy to announce that the Eclipse Tractus-X website has been successfully updated. The underlying documentation framework, Docusaurus, is now running on version 3.7.0.

This upgrade was essential, as we were previously using an outdated version that limited our flexibility and security.

What's New?​

Visually, not much has changed — but you might notice that the News Blog is now grouped by year for improved clarity. While the visible updates are minimal, this upgrade clears the path for more improvements in the future.

Following the overwhelming positivity of the third Eclipse Tractus-X Community Days, we are pleased to announce the fourth edition, scheduled for May 22-23, 2025, at ARENA2036 in Stuttgart, Germany. Because of the high demand we have expanded our capacity, this year's event will welcome even more participants and feature an expanded range of workshops, challenges and opportunities to collaborate on shaping the future of open-source development in manufacturing and beyond.

Dear Tractus-X- and Dataspace-Community,

The Third Eclipse Tractus-X Community Days, held on December 5 and 6, 2024, at ARENA2036 in Stuttgart, marked a significant milestone in our journey towards fostering open-source collaboration within the automotive and manufacturing sectors. Building upon the successes of previous events, this edition attracted over 220 participants from diverse regions, including Japan, Spain, the USA, and India, underscoring the growing global interest in the Tractus-X initiative.

A notable highlight was the increased participation from representatives of Manufacturing-X projects such as Factory-X, Aerospace-X, Semiconductor-X, Chem-X, and Construction-X. Their involvement enriched the discussions with fresh perspectives, fostering a broader ecosystem for networking and collaborative development.

This year's event introduced an updated format tailored to various interests and experience levels, featuring multiple streams, presentations, workshops and challenges. This setup provided a comprehensive Tractus-X environment with federated services and use cases, enhancing the hands-on experience for attendees.

Hello Tractus-X community,

We are excited to announce a major update to the design of our KIT icons! We have implemented a new, unified design and color scheme that improves consistency, readability, and visual cohesion across all KITs. With this update, all icons now follow a standardized layout that visually connects them while still allowing room for individuality. The new layout enhances the overall user experience and ensures a more polished look in the gallery and beyond.

A Unified Layout for a Unified Experience​

Color plays a critical role in differentiating KITs and making them visually accessible. To achieve this, we have updated the color scheme to strike a balance between shared identity and unique representation:

• KITs within the same domain now share a common base color to symbolize their connection,
• Each KIT retains its own accent color to emphasize its unique scope.

This ensures that each KIT is still easily identifiable while reinforcing its association with the broader domain. We have also adjusted the primary color for certain KIT to improve readability and contrast. These changes are particularly noticeable in the KIT gallery, where some older color choices made text and icons harder to read.

Why These Changes Matter​

Consistency and clarity are key to making our open source project accessible and enjoyable for everyone. By unifying the design and refining the color scheme, we’re making navigation easier, improving accessibility and creating a cohesive identity.
